            11FEB18 Scout Sunday at UMC:  Even if you do not normally attend this church, or attend at all, this is our opportunity to show our sponsor what we do.  Please attend if you can
                         9:30AM Boys arrive in Full Class A Uniform with Sash (and green pants)
                         10:00-10:45  Scout Service with 2 Scouts reading, 2 greeters, ushers
                         10:45-11:30  During coffee/refreshments, scouts will show off some of their items (like patch collection on bulletin board, Eagle Project Displays) and teach about our activities.
            FEBRUARY 2018

            15FEB (THURS)  22 Rifle shooting at New Haven Sportsmen's Club located in Guilford
                         Parents have to drive their sons to the Sportsmen's Club, and pick them up.  If they need to share a ride, it is up to that Scout to set up a ride
                         Address:  4158 Durham Road (Route 77), Guilford, CT,  It takes about 20-25 minutes to drive there.  Your son should eat dinner before or eat something on way up.
                         UNIFORM:  Class B Tshirts, sweatshirts.  No class A.
                         6:00PM meet at the Club for the safety in brief.  Shooting from 6:30-8:30.  The club will provide NRA Range Safety Officers, ammo and guns for free.  They will have one on one adult instruction.    
                         These guys are awesome and donate all ammo, their time, and train over 12-15 troops per year as well as other youth groups.  
             
            15FEB (THURS) For the 7APRIL Merit Badge Madness at Xavier High School, the Council will announce what merit badges are listed.  Then, registration opens on 1MAR via the Council Website.  This is not done as a troop wide event, but usually individual scouts sign up if they want to attend.

            22FEB For those scouts attending JN Webster BSA Summer Camp on 22-27JULY, your $50 deposit is due.  For those boys crossing over from Cub Scouts, they do not have to pay their deposit yet.

                        New scouts attend the "First Class Path" which entails about 3 merit badges like swimming, leatherworking, etc and focuses on basic scouting skills like fire building, etc.  Ask a scoutmaster for more info at the Thursday
                        meeting.

                 This is our Welcome Campout for our new scouts:  Alex, Josh, Kevin, and Aden.  Please RSVP with Bill Loth and come learn about Boy Scout activities and receive your Welcome onboard gifts!

                   For those preparing for Backpacking Trip in June, we will be hiking with your backpacks at 20-25lbs.  For those not backpacking in June, no backpack is required for the hike

                                               We leave Friday after school and drive to RI Camp Aquapaug which is about 1hr 20min drive.  Saturday, we leave for the airshow at 8:30AM

            23JUN18 (Service Project) For those that want to volunteer to help paint the Pastor's house to welcome in the new Pastor, let the Scoutmaster know.  This will not be a full troop event
